Being self-employed

I went to a lecture at the London School of Economics a few days ago. The subject of the lecture was the most effective ways to make lots of money without working too hard, and the discussion centred around a host of ideas which could make you very rich, without putting in a lot of man hours. There were a number of ideas recommended, including trading financial instruments, and committing mass online banking fraud. These are two good ideas, one a lot more legal than the other! There was also a discussion about whether being self employed is more lucrative than working for somebody else. There were many different ideas on this particular point, and no agree-upon solution was made.

The one thing i was surprised about was the exclusion of the mega millions lottery which in my opinion is the perfect way to maximise your income whilst minimising your effort. For the life of me i cannot comprehend how a room full of esteemed academics missed such an obvious point, but they did! Obviously they have been living away form the real world for too long!
